August scripture writing plan

Hey y’all! Wanted to come by to say Happy 1st day of August to you! I hope you had a wonderful July. Summer hasn’t been one to drag it’s feet this year. It’s all gone by like lightening, if you ask me. Below is the August Scripture Writing Plan. Shannon from Sweet Blessings lets me share these each month. When you have a chance, go on over & tell her what a “sweet blessing” she is.

I so hope you are having a blessed week. Only a few days until school starts! When someone mentions this fact, I feel much like Arnold on Different Strokes –

Until next time I will be going because I should be washing clothes.

July scripture writing plan-Hello July, goodbye June

If you are a faithful scripture writing follower, or if this is the first month you join us, July’s schedule is here! Shannon at Sweet Blessings has graciously let me share the scripture writing plans she creates. She is so very talented. If you get a chance, go over and visit with her at http://www.swtblessings.com.

You may click on the writing plan here.

Obedience, y’all. Does anyone have any trouble with this but me? I know since I was a young child, I have had a considerable amount of issue with obeying. I perhaps may be what my Mamaw would call “bullheaded“. Which in layman’s terms would mean stubborn as the day is long. And let me tell you, there have been times in my life this has done me NO good at all. None. Zero. Has not been a help in the least. So, this little study, is a wonderful, heartwrenching, glorious, topic for me and those like me, to dig into. Bless our hearts.

I hope you all have a blessed July 4th. We will be doing the usual grilling with family thing. Eating like pigs. Hugging and kissing on grandbabies. Shooting fireworks. Laughing until it hurts. And praying for God to continue to bless America.  Until next time, I have to be going because I should be washing clothes.

May Scripture Writing Plan

Good first day of May to y’all! We have so much going on this month. The kids are getting out of school this month. As in This.Month.  Why am I feeling a wee bit sad about this? Only the fact that Miss Neenee will be going into the 8th grade, then to high school, then leaving home for college. Which I am not necessarily encouraging because Y’ALL. That means she will be moving and becoming independent. NOT a fan. Who comes up with all these crazy ideas anyway?

Now, to lighten the mood, my friend, Shannon, over at Sweet Blessings once again has put together a month of scriptures to study. This month is about “Friendship”. Y’all, what would we do without all of our precious friends? I can’t wait to dig into God’s Word about friendship!

I  hope you have had a great weekend. We had 3 wonderful lessons at church about creation. I can’t wait to fill you in on it. Until next time I have to be going because I should be washing clothes.

April Scripture Writing Plan

Wanted to hop on over (late nonetheless-story of my life) & share the April Scripture Writing Plan. Shannon, over at Sweet Blessings, lets me share this with you each month. She’s just a sweetheart like that! This month’s topic is Grief. What a thoughtful topic to dig into God’s word about! I can’t wait to see where this month’s scriptures take us.

I hope you have had a wonderful weekend. The weather was just showing out all weekend long! We got out in the yard, after church, & played like nobody’s business. Once the grandkids left, I was one tired Grand! I perhaps specifically neglected my laundry this weekend. So, last night I was working like a wild woman trying to get it all together. How was your weekend? I hope you were more productive than me. Until next time, I have to be going because I should be washing clothes.

This too shall pass, maybe like a kidney stone, but it will pass…..

March is here, y’all! With that, Shannon over at Sweet Blessings has another precious scripture writing plan. March’s writing plan is about Grace.

a-grace-scripture-writing-plan-englishJust thinking about grace made me think how much the Lord blesses us. A couple of weeks ago, I had some kidney stones or 3. Then, my Daddy had a spell with his heart, that put him in the hospital for a few days. Kidney stone pain & worrying about your Daddy pain can be pretty rough. And I know you are wondering how the Lord is blessing us with all of that. Well, with my Daddy’s heart problems we found out it was a warning. It was the calm before the storm. The doctor said it was just a precursor to a major stroke. However, since he had this set back, it got his attention to pay better mind to what he has going on. Because it is serious! He’s made some changes & is on the road to recovery. We are so grateful & thankful the Lord has given us the chance to get back on the right path health wise. I have to remember when I have trials, there have been so many good things that have happened in my life. We have to take the bad with the good.

Job 2:10 …Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?” (NKJV)

The Lord has always been in the second chance business. But more so than not, with the gospel. We had a teenager obey the gospel & be baptized Sunday night at church. It just made my heart happy for this young boy. He will never know more peace & contentment than he will know with the Lord. The Lord gives us lots of chances to get our hearts right. He listens to our prayers. He is with us during pain & when we need comfort. Things can sometimes seem hopeless, however, nothing in life is permanent. Just know, no matter what is going on in your life, it’s going to pass. If you have fallen on hard times & want to give up, don’t. Always know, if you are praying, God’s working on it.

James 4:14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. (NKJV)

It’s going to pass. If things are going good & nothing but rainbows & fluffy clouds are hanging around you. Enjoy it. It will pass, too. Just know no matter how bad things may seem, the Lord always comes in offers you a way to deal with it.

I Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. (NKJV)

I leave you with this:

  1. No matter what, this too shall pass. Perhaps like a kidney stone, but it will pass.
  2. Be on guard. You never know what direction the devil is going to come at you next.
  3. Trust God. No excuses. Just do that for me. Pretty please? You will be so glad you did.

So, the weather has had a mind of it’s own, obviously. Here in northeast Mississippi, it’s been 75 degrees, then 40 degrees, then raining & humid, then freezing, then 70 degrees again. All in one week. If we could have some winter weather, that would be appreciated, thank you very much. But oh well, we’ve about run out of time. Because it will be hotter than blue blazes again before you know it. Hope y’all are staying warm. Or cool, or what ever it is during a day’s time. Until next time, I should be going, because I should be washing clothes.

Don't you just hate it when this happens?

October Scripture Writing Plan & guess what day it is?

Well, it’s Friday & it’s the end of another fast month that’s gone by.  I wanted to share with y’all the Scripture Writing Plan for October.  Shannon over at Sweet Blessings is so kind to let me share this with you each month.  She has made 2 plans for this month.  One is just a general writing plan- with no theme.  For those of you, who like to have a topic to study, there’s one on “Kindness”.

And by the way, guess what today is?  It’s mine & my sweetie’s wedding anniversary!  We have been married 17 years.  I can honestly say, I would not want to do all this life stuff without him.  Speaking of life stuff- I wanted to share this recipe, I found in the October issue of Southern Living.  Because when is life not about eating?

White Bean & Pork Chili

White Bean & Pork Chili

Ingredients

4 tablespoons olive oil
2 pounds ground pork
1 medium-size white onion, chopped (about 2 cups)
1 poblano chile, seeded, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 (4.5-oz.) cans chopped green chiles, undrained
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon kosher salt
2 (15.5-oz.) cans white beans (such as cannellini or great Northern), drained and rinsed
3 1/3 cups reduced-sodium chicken broth
6 ounces shredded Monterey Jack cheese (about 1 1/2 cups)
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
Preparation

1. Heat 2 tablespoons of the oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high. Add pork, and cook, stirring until crumbled and no longer pink, 6 to 8 minutes. Drain pork, and set aside. Wipe Dutch oven clean.

2. Heat remaining 2 tablespoons oil in Dutch oven over medium. Add onion, poblano, garlic, green chiles, cumin, and salt, and cook, stirring often, until vegetables are tender, 3 to 4 minutes.

3. Increase heat to high. Stir in beans, broth, and pork, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer, stirring occasionally, until heated through, about 40 minutes. Add cheese and lime juice, and stir until cheese is melted. Serve immediately.

I cannot wait to try this.  It looks like something I will be making more than once, that’s for sure!

I hope you have had a good week.  May I say the weather has just been showing out?  It has been cooler & people have been in better moods & y’all, you don’t feel like you are melting every time you go outside.  I have heard Fall is God’s way of saying I’m sorry for Summer.  Because y’all, our summers are hotter than blue blazes.  Until next time, get out your fuzzy socks because you are going to need them & I have to be going because I should be washing clothes.

September Scripture Writing Plan

Here we are again, making way for another month.  I know I am looking forward to fall & maybe some cooler temperatures.  Y’all know northeast Mississippi can get smothering, gasping for breath, can’t let the kids outside, pretty hot during this time of year.  Shannon over at Sweet Blessings has yet another great scripture writing plan for September.  She has been such a “sweet blessing” to me by letting me share this with you each month.

September Scripture Writing Plan 16 English

I hope you are having a wonderful week.  We are in full swing with school, church activities, basketball, band, and what have you. Can’t believe I have a baby turning 22 years old in September & a grandbaby turning 5.  My Dad also has a birthday September 1st.  He will be 72 years young.  And when I say young, I mean, when I called him the other day, he was out mowing his yard.  In the middle of the HOT day.  Can’t.Do.A.Thing.With.Him.  If you will remember, this is the same Daddy that was having mini strokes, back a few months ago.  Just glad he feels as good as he does.  Until next time I have to be going, because I should be washing clothes.

August Scripture Writing Plan- Better late than never!

Better late that never, is what I’ve always heard!  Shannon over at Sweet Blessings graciously lets me share this with y’all each month.  She has the scripture writing plans in Spanish & a more “manly” print out for you guys!  That Shannon.  She thinks of everything.  Click on the scripture writing plan below to go on over & pay her a visit.   I know she would love to have you!

August Scripture Writing Plan 16

Sorry this is late, y’all.  Hope you are having a great summer!  Ours comes to an ubrupt halt tomorrow.  Miss Neenee goes into 7th grade!  She is an official junior higher now!  And if you think I’m excited, because I am using all of these exclamation points you are wrong! I’m not looking forward to this!  Not looking forward to this at all!  Until next time, I should be going because I should be washing clothes.

July Scripture Writing Plan

JULY Scripture Writing Plan English

Hey y’all.  Just wanted to pop in & let you know about July’s Scripture Writing Plan.  Shannon, over at http://www.swtblessings.com, so graciously allows me to share her scripture plans.  Go on over & visit with her & let her know what a “sweet blessing” she is!

Patience & perseverance is the topics for July.  And Lord have mercy don’t we all need a good dose of that!  Join me as we read through God’s Word & enjoy knowing his tender mercies for us.

I hope you are having a wonderful week.  It’s 4th of July weekend!  That means family, food, & fun!  Can’t wait to spend it with my people.  My cousin is here from Colorado.  His 12 year old son said he could not wait to shoot some fireworks.  He was so very excited.  Evidently, Colorado is not a firework friendly state.  I hope you have some fun holiday plans, as well.  Until next time, I will be going, because I should be washing clothes.
