And just like that, summer was gone & love your people

We are right in the middle of being in the swing of things for school this year. Miss Neenee has plenty to keep her busy. She is cheering this year. We are so excited! Except that she has to miss band for the 1st semester.  However, 2nd semester, trumpet section, watch out.

She has had some spirit days at school where they dress up, appropriately, nonetheless, for the theme.  This was crazy hair day.

She had a bird’s nest made of hair (aka a bun).

They had a dance. And guess what? Mr. Sweetie Pants attended, too. He was just as cute, as the day is long, to watch dancing with all the “big girls”.

It was a black light dance, thus the freshly made glow in the dark t-shirts & face paint.

We went to the circus with the grands. They were so excited. I asked what their favorite part was & hands down, it was the dog that did tricks! Nevermind the blurry picture. There was LOTS of energy & not being able to be still in this photo. Oh & a Grand that can’t take good pictures.

We came across Batman, Spiderman, a tiger, & a puppy dog at the circus.

On Labor Day we had a fish fry. This young man had a really good time. He told lots of tales and entertained the dickens out of everyone, per his usual.

This man is full of entertainment. Lots and lots of entertainment.

I Thessalonians 3:12

And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you,

I thank God daily for the full life I have. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by people we love. There is really no greater joy in life. I pray the Lord will also make your love BIG for your people, too.  Until next time, I should be washing clothes.

Back to school- seriously summer has bit the dust

back to school

My Miss Neenee went back to school yesterday.  As in yesterday.  What about summer?  Where did that guy go?  I have to admit, it still has not really sunk in that summer 2015 has come to a screeching halt.  I mean, there were so many things we were going to do this summer.  For the past several years, we have done one of those summer bucket lists.  Of course with school deciding to slip up on us like this, we barely made a dent in that list.   Ya’ll time is not stopping for anybody.

I always like to look around & see what cute things other bloggers have come up with for back to school.  Here are my best finds:

free alphabet printableWhat an adorable printable to give to a teacher or to use for yourself.

backtoschoollunchboxjokes30daysMy Miss Neenee loves a lunchbox joke.  I’m sure your sweeties will, too.  Just print these off & slip them in their lunchbox.

Also, on thirtyhandmadedays.com there are a plethora of ideas for back to school organizing.  Just looky here-

I also talked to my Miss Neenee & my sweet Wednesday night Bible class students about kindness.  I told them how important it was to be Christ like & show kindness to everybody.  Especially those that don’t deserve it.  They need it the most.  We also talked about bullying.  I asked them what should they do if they see somebody being mean to someone else?

One sweet girl said, “Go tell a teacher.”

I also reminded them they could take up for the person getting bullied, too.  That sometimes will make a bully stop in their tracks.  No one admitted to ever being bullied, however, I wanted it to be fresh on their minds.  That way, they would be able to react the way Jesus wanted them to.be kindEphesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

I sure hope you are having a good week.  It has been a smidge busy around our house.  With school starting & whathaveyou.  I have also been shelling peas, making some pickles, & putting up green beans just like it’s my job.  I may make a good homemaker before long.  You just never can tell about those things.  green beans

Also, this year while Miss Neenee was selling Girl Scout cookies, I made the executive decision to buy some & put them in the freezer.  I have been partaking of some of those here of late.  After a stressful day at work, one does not realize the power a Samoa can have over you.  My pre-Girl Scout cookie weight was a little more easy on the eyes than what I have had going on as recently as this morning when I got on the scales & to my dismay decided maybe I should give up on the Girl Scout cookies.  I perhaps may need to give them to my daughter.  She’s eating all kinds of strange things lately because she’s having another BABY!  You heard me right.  Another sweet thing to cuddle & spoil & kiss & hug.  To say we are delighted is truly an understatement.  So, now you know what all is going on with me.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  Until next time, I will be going, because I should be washing clothes.

Back to school

Am I the only one wondering where the summer went?  We go back to school tomorrow.  Tomorrow.  As in tomorrow.  I’m just astonished & perplexed & wondering how in the world it all got by me.  There was a list of stuff me & Miss Neenee were going to do before school started.  She can’t go back to school.  We haven’t finished the list!  Oh well.  All the wailing & crying in the world won’t stop the fact it’s time for school.

I have, in fact, found some helpful solutions to our beginning of the school year woes.  Kristi at I should be mopping the floor has a bunch of neat things on her website that is back to schoolish.

She always has the best stuff on her website.  That Kristi.  I’m so glad she leaves those floors un-mopped.

After you get finished there, go on over to My Super Charged Life     You will find a blog post that is about being nice.  And who doesn’t need to be nice?  This would be something good to go over with your kids, too.  Seeing they will be with other darlings, that may well, not have much coaching on how to be nice.  This would be something good for them to have fresh on their little minds.  They may have to teach niceness to a few other kids this year.

I hope all of you have a wonderful school year.  Miss Neenee will be in 5th grade this year.  5th grade. (sigh)  I went to pick up her schedule & I asked them what she needed to do on the 1st day.  The office lady said, “She will need to meet in the gym.”  I thought, “But that’s where the big kids go.”  Oh yeah.  That’s her.  A big kid.  Maybe a little stressing out is in order here.  Until then, I have to be going, because I should be washing clothes.
